Project 1 - Introduction to the Construction Industry – Visual graphic presentation 

This task is an individual task, everyone are given a task to create a collage. Which is to create a collage illustrating a particular ‘ Construction Industry and Context Within which we are concerned of. For example, we can choose topic such as Construction Industry and Me, Construction Industry and The Earth, Construction Industry and Nature and so on. The topic that I’ve chosen is Construction Industry and The Earth.

Learning outcomes:

I’ve learnt that the construction industry

have a very close relation to the earth,

because all the buildings are been built on the surface of earth. Besides that, the materials for build a building are all from the earth, for example iron, concrete, sand and so on. Other than that, I’ve also learn to become a discipline student which can complete work on time.

Project 2 : Client as a team player in the construction industry

This assignment is a group work assignment. The class has been divided into groups which consist of 4 members in each group.

Each group are required to look for a specific vacant land weather inside or outside of the campus, and act as a client who want to initiate a small construction project which relate to the field that have been chosen. A book of group proposal has to be produced in this assignment.

In the proposal, the first main thing is each group has to visualizer as a construction company with the details such as the name of the company, the address of the company and the contact number of the company. After that come out with what we going to build on the land that have been chosen for example shopping complex, food court, and gaming center. Followed by drawing out the design of that building with description at the first place, then come out with the plan of each floor with clear description. 

Learning outcomes:

In this assignment, I’ve learned the main player in the construction industry and their responsibilities in a construction project. Besides that, I have also learned on how to prepare a very detailed and specific proposal.  In addition, throughout this project, I have learned that teamwork is a very beneficial value, if not necessity, in order to help us complete this project.
